They also write that there will be even bigger ships. So an aircraft carrier is likely! Maybe the USS Lexington. Since there are already German, British and Japanese ships, an American is very likely.

New stuka's nose is indeed made flatter; But what of note is that they use a real pilots name on the box art for the first time; Hope they don't get any issues regarding privacy violations for family or something..... Great face by the way

That new version of Stuka didn´t really convince me first. I have heard of Hans-Ullrich Rudel before, but after reading his short biography on wikipedia, that model is a must have for me.
"Rudel was the most decorated German serviceman of World War II, being the sole recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Golden Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds..."
"Rudel flew 2,530 combat missions on the Eastern Front of World War II. The majority of these were undertaken while flying the Junkers Ju 87, although 430 were flown in ground-attack variants of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190. He was credited with the destruction of 519 tanks, severely damaging the battleship Marat, as well as sinking a cruiser (incomplete and heavily damaged Petropavlovsk), a destroyer (Leningrad-class destroyer Minsk) and 70 landing craft. Rudel also claimed to have destroyed more than 800 vehicles of all types, over 150 artillery, anti-tank or anti-aircraft positions, 4 armored trains, as well as numerous bridges and supply lines. Rudel was also credited with 51 aerial victories, 42 of which were fighter aircraft and 7 Ilyushin Il-2s. He was shot down or forced to land 30 times due to anti-aircraft artillery, was wounded five times and rescued six stranded aircrew from enemy-held territory."
Got my Nashorn two days ago, ordered two of them. One is packed as a gift under the christmas tree as intended...
I bought the second one to improve my Panzer III moc with the smaller tracks, but in the meanwhile I couldnt resist to built the entire model.
To sum up: It is an excellent model, especially they finally used the 2 studs wide tracks and those brilliant new front and back wheels. I like the brick with the 88 mm shells printed on it and all those further little details. As achtungpanzer said, unfortunately it is totally out of proportion in length. The inner space behind the gun is very small to place tank soldiers in it. Further more, I don´t really like the heart on the sides, perhaps I will change those bricks after christmas :-) It has to be at least 3 studs longer, but I don´t know how to fix it "easily" without spending hours for it. So if someone starts to moc it, please share step by sep pics for your fellow collectors.
I think I am going to accept the gun barrel of the stock version. Maybe today I will put some accessoires, camoflage and additional soldiers in it and post pictures. Only problem is that the image shack accounts are just for free for 4 weeks I think... Any ideas? By the way: I am totally out of enough tanks soldiers... I need at least 4 more crew members since Cobi released those open tanks and other tanks with a lot of hatches. Hope that Cobi will sell them as spare parts as well, especially with black Feldmütze M38 (Schiffchen)...

Tried to look up that 'red heart' from the Nashorn, seems it is from s.H.Pz.Jg.Abt. 88 Dragon models made a model after it in the same 2 color camo scheme Here is a link of the units history; www.feldgrau.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7697

This is my rendition of the Hornisse / Nashorn. Shows an Hornisse at Eastern front in Summer 1943.
I enlarged the chassis by 2 studs, my first attempt with 3 studs longer chassis made wrong proportions. I also enlarged the part under the gun barrel, changed the gun barrel itself. I put in the second brick with the 88mm shells in it, too. Put in 3 more tank soldiers, MG34, camo plants, spare tracks, etc... Also added the part of over the gun, the green part at the beginning of the chassis...
Only the gun marks are missing.
Hope you like...
Didnt make step by step pictures, sorry...

Looks fantastic Sweroboj! You did a super fine job there 2 studs wider looks enough, especially for the undercarriage/track-length Did you also lower the gun? Looks way better How did you attach the spare tracks on the frontal hull? That's definitly a great improvement Now looking at your nashorn i might buy one also and do the same job you did Maybe i will lower the upper hull by 1 stud to make it a little bit flatter , but that calls for other slanted tiles All those plants and leaves are looking great also, and offcourse a full crew looks way better I really like it, great moc! About those m38 sidecaps you put on the crewmembers; i like the ones from cobi too, but i want some more in grey ( cobi rarely make those)

achtungpanzer : No, I didnt lower the gun, maybe it happend unintended, but I think it is normal. I attached the spare tracks, plants and leaves and accessoires with UHU patafix transparent, like I did with my other models. It is a little bit of cheating, but who cares... It is a cheat like saw bricks or paint them, I am rather not the COBI hardliner.. it is most important for me that the modells look more authentic than the stock versions if possible.
rocky100370 : Unfortunately I didnt make step by step pictures, the modifications took time enough. Spend 6 hours for it, because of my failed attempt with 3 studs wider undercarriage.
But I have a few detail pictures too rebuild my moc:
I. First step for wider undercarriage length. You simply need to make it two studs longer at the rear side. First picture shows my moc, second one without tracks the stock version by COBI:
After making the ground plate 2 studs longer, simply built it like in manual instruction. It is important to orientate at the front part and just make the rear part wider.
II. The attachments are fixed with UHU patafix transparent, like shown in the following pictures.
Of course, you have to continue making the upper hull two studs longer, but it is very easy then. I made the part under the gun barrel 1 brick longer I think, very easy job.
You get a lot more space behind the gun after the modifications, so I also put a brick with attachment for MP40 and K98k in it. You can put the commander with the MG 34 on it, so he can shoot out of the tank...
Believe me, it gets the wrong proportions if you try to increase the undercarriage for 3 studs instead.
I took the showel from my Tiger II, the sticker "Jäger" is from WOT set. The brick on the gun is also fixed with UHU patafix. Unfortunately you couldnt move the gun now to the sides.
The ax, the hammer and the chain are lego parts. I dont really know any more where the sticker No. "90" is from...
Building it with camo plants and leaves makes the model more detailed and more authentic I think.
And of course, I changed the gun barrel, you can see easy in my posted pictures. Now the chassis is larger, the gun can be built the the thicker bricks, looks better for my opinion. It is time for the gun marks now... 3 rings or 6? ;-)
Building this MOC was rather easy, because I had two Hornissen. Of course you have to take more track parts because of the wider undercarriage. In the original version there are 50 track parts, I think I used now 56 or 53 on each side. I was lucky to posses two Hornissen two built it. But as I said last week, it spend a lot of hours to moc it. Maybe you can save the time by using my pictures and ideas... That can save time for your other MOC projects and you can post pictures of them.
Quid pro quo...

Pictures of my downsized Kettenkrad MOC.
Thank you achtungpanzer for your very good template!
My next project will be to modify my Panzer III Ausf. L MOC with the smaller tracks. I have a lot of spare parts of the first Hornisse to improve all of my other mocs now...
I think I will not buy the grey/green Jagdtiger, because I dont like the weird camo scheme. Maybe the next new tank to buy is a Sturmtiger. That modells seems to be perfect without modifications...

You're welcome Sweroboj, always glad to help a fellow collector! ;-)
The doors are indeed open for nice panzer III's and IV's mocs now that Cobi's hummel and nashorn models are out
Speaking of that new Jagdtiger, i saw on Cobi's facebook just now a nice drawing/rendering of that jagdtigers chassis with a tiger II turret
I couldn't rip that picture, otherwise i would have post it here
It looked awesome , especially with those great fenders
Maybe a newly designed turret would finish the job
