Well, the previous set 2485 was the "EDYCJA LIMITOWANA", so apparently only targeted at Polish customers, but the "new" set 2652 is a "SPECIAL EXCLUSIVE EDITION", so this one is now for all the international customers! See ... question solved Btw, that soldier on the box artwork in the driver's hatch in the front looks quite badly photoshopped in there

I seen the fokker and sopwith camel, the final result isn't bad, in a good minifig scale, but the landing gears are horrible.

Submarines and Bi-Planes. So far I'm liking what I'm seeing! Really glad that Cobi is diversifying their vehicle offerings a little bit. My den is starting to get a little tank-heavy. Although that does remind me that I still haven't gotten around to assembling the LEGO Sopwith Camel from 2012

Although that does remind me that I still haven't gotten around to assembling the LEGO Sopwith Camel from 2012 Lego's two Sopwith Camel sets 3451 (2001) and 10226 (2012) and the Fokker DR.I set 10024 (2002) are great builds, and more or less the only "real" war machinery models from Lego. Anyway, Lego's 10226 Sopwith Camel is hanging on strings right beside my monitor, catching dust since 2012

I bought my Lego Fokker Red Baron 10024 in Legoland Billund in 2002 when it came out
I sold it the year before last year in absolute mint condition with brand new box and instructions....
I did it because i hadn't displayed it for more than 10 years and when i decided to collect only ww2 related blocks ( which is actually Cobi's fault ;-))
The only downside was that the Lego decals on my model were totally pulverised over the years... Lego used some real shitty stickers on this one!
Cobi's model looks a bit simple on that photo, but i have to keep in mind that it has a different size than the one from lego offcourse....

They even did a nice Kriegsmarine flag on the deck
Very impressive

Lego used some real shitty stickers on this one! That sounds somewhat familiar :-) I bought mine also when it came out in a Legoland, the German one in Günzburg, when it first opened in 2002 (on the special pre-opening day for AFOLs) And my decals are also totally pulverized now, actually on all of my Lego models (Sopwith Camel, Red Baron, Star Wars UCS, Ferraris, ...) lego should be ashamed by the fact that any free merchandise sticker you get for free has a better quality than the official stickers from Lego for their premium products :-( But even if you don't apply the Lego stickers, they still crumble even when still on the sticker sheet. But Lego apparently doesn't care, as this is still a problem today after all those years, so I don't use stickers on my Lego models anymore (which sometimes make the models look quite bad and incomplete) As only stickers on a white foil seem to be affected by the "pulverize" effect, I still apply stickers which come on transparent foil ...

I found someone on ebay a couple years back who sold high quality duplicate lego stickers... He had the red baron too
Only time can tell if it really is high quality offcourse, but it sounded credible

Years ago I started using very high quality packing tape over my white LEGO stickers to mitigate that crackle effect. It doesn't look great, but it's much better than destroyed stickers or no stickers at all. I've been nursing the stickers on the Blockade Runner for close to two decades now. I also have the original Camel. I never got the Fokker or the Wright Flyer back then, and looking back at the Fokker I feel quite a bit less regret because I was never 100% thrilled with how it looked then and it looks even worse now after 15 years of set design evolution. Oddly enough, the simplicity of the new Cobi models gives them a sort of elegance those older models didn't have. I do hope we get a nice spread of WWI planes, but not too many. They'll all start to blend together after a while.

All things said, i do believe Lego deserves a medal for model choice when talking about that Fokker.....
I never thought a company like Lego (even back then in 2002) would ever make a German WWI plane, thinking about political correctness and all...
True, there were some flaws in model design, but things considered it wasn't realy that bad
Got to say, looking a couple of times at Cobi's Fokker i start to like it more and more
