Do you have a dedicated table or desktop or area in which you can work out your MOCs? Do you simply grab a handful of bloks and start building wherever the mood strikes you?
Or some combination of the above? Or something else altogether?
Lately I've been aware of how long it's been since I actually sat down to build something out of Mega. I've done fairly extensive work in rendering virtual bloks, and I may tinker with a few real bloks here and there, but I haven't truly built much by hand for far too long, and I think that the problem is space.
I keep my collection in a number of boxes and plastic totes, very roughly sorted by colors and, to a much lesser degree, by part-type. This is fairly handy for storage, but it doesn't really facilitate the creative process, especially when your work area is a small section of desk in that room.
In the months ahead I'll likely get a large tabletop in an adjacent room in my basement, and I hope that this'll give me space to flex my creative muscles.
So where do you do it? We have some clever MOC'ers among us, working in different styles and scales, so I'd love to hear how (and where) you dive into your process.
Let us know!

This a picture of my basement floor when I was putting together a custom build of a Forward Operating Base (F.O.B.) from Halo Infinite. I keep my various tubs, drawers and boxes of parts stacked against the walls in this area and pull them out as needed when working on a build. It starts out clean but is usually a total mess by the time I'm done...sometimes cleanup takes almost as long as the build! I find a large open area more friendly than a tabletop when doing a lot of trial and error building, but as my joints continue to age I'm finding it harder and harder to spend hours at a time sitting on the floor...there may be table and chair in my building future whether I like it or not...

That's a good space. When I get my table up and running, I might put down a scrap of carpet because I find it easier to scoop parts from that kind of surface than from a hard floor or tabletop.
And I share your discomfort at sitting too long on the floor!
