Recently I bought a bundle of mixed lego and equivalent brands weighing about 50kgs. I've gone through it all, and there is about 40kgs of lego, so I will be spending a lot of time identifying parts, finding the sets and getting instructions.
Problem I have is that there are a load of mega bloks and un-named pieces, but i think once I identify the un-named parts based on a character of each piece, I will be able to do the same as I will with the lego.
The mega bloks have part numbers etc, but I cannot seem to find a site that does the same as lego in baing able to put in the part number and working out the set based on other pieces.
Simple question after all that. Is there such a site?
Thanks

Welcome to The Bloks Forum!
Although we don't have a user-accessible search function like you're describing, if you give me a list of parts I can run them through my database to see which sets pop up. You might also post a pic to see if anyone recognizes their sourece.

The bricks in the first photo probably aren't Mega, because they'd have the logo imprinted either on a stud or on the flat surface between studs. These could be from a number of "third tier" brands.
That terrain form was fairly common in its day, appearing in several product lines including Dragons, Pyrates, Power Rangers, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
The arm element in the third pic is from set 9337 Spy, from the Transforming Blok-Bots line in 2001.
The blue wing came from either 9743 or 9781, both titled Blue Thunder in the ProBuilder line, from 2000 and 2003, respectively.
I'd guess that those last two elements came from set 9357 Ninja & Dragon, also from the 2001 TBB line.
Hope this helps!

Now I have found I am missing an integral part for one of those sets. Do you know the best place that may sell spare parts?

There are a couple of Marketplace groups on Facebook for sales of Mega sets and pieces, but nothing as organized as Bricklink.
Which part are you looking for? It might be tough to find spares for sets of that age.

Ah. Well, keep your eyes open on eBay. That's the kind of piece that seems to show up in odd lots of Mega now and then, so you might get lucky. Make sure that you get the correct one, and not another copy of the one you have!
