I think someone asked about these a while back. Intelli-Blox had a license for LOTR stuff when the films came out. The figure design IMO was awful, and for some reason they bet heavily on an integrated sound chip in the 2x4 brick base of each figure that would unintelligibly screech some line from the films when pressed into a socket in the play sets. The bricks were by Tandem and were quite good quality, though slightly softer than LEGO or Mega. My favorite aspect of the sets were the scenery elements, including odd bits of furniture (not well scaled to Mega) and terrain pieces. Here are a few of the trees that are basically sculpted/painted molds with a 2x2 plate glued to the underside as a base.
