Quick review of SY's Japanese Type 10 MBT set.
MFG: SY
Part Number: 0103
Pieces: 806
Figures: 4
It's good to see a company making a set of a tank that no one else has up to this point.
While this set includes 4 LEGO style Minifigs the tank is not to minifig scale. It's slightly to small. But with that said it's still a nicely detailed set.
The build is very straight forward with the exception of a few steps where the image is a little unclear in the manual and required removal and refitting of parts multiple times. As a note there was one part missing from the set.
The treads are tight and do not roll on any surfaces. This is more of a desk model than a toy.
The extra details are created from stickers, a lot of stickers. If you don't feel comfortable with applying lots of stickers then avoid SY sets. The sticker quality over all is not exceptional and the transparent parts of the stickers makes the parts beneath them look a little cloudy and very shiny in direct light. The stickers also leave a lot of small air bubbles on the surface.
The plastic blocks themselves are molded well, have tight grip, good consistent color and no molding defects or molding lines.
The Figures have full painted camo and look pretty good. The third figure from the left is a female character. The weapons for the figs are on a sprue and very generic, nothing of note. In fact I think SY included the wrong sprue as the guns on the one provided are WWII guns which don't fit with a modern tank set.
I'd give the set an overall a B+
If they had just painted the parts and not used stickers the set would be so much better. Along with including the correct weapons.
