Well doesn't that suck. We can dream. BUT there is a ray of hope. Hasbro also has the Star Trek license but we were able to get some figs of characters in the last few years. Hasbro also owns Transformers and has Kreo sets from that series too but they are letting LEGO release the Optimus Prime set. Still I won't bet money on it happening.

I'm going to re-cast my vote for Warhammer, specifically 40K. I only ever played that game a few times way back in college, but it has a massive fan base worldwide. And you'd get Necromunda into the bargain.
The biggest obstacle I see is that Games Workshop might be hesitant to pair up with a company to produce other "miniatures," but of course Mega's figures are much larger than 25mm scale, so maybe?
Heck, cozying up with Games Workshop would yield a massive field of possibilities.
I need to stop now before getting my hopes up.

Oh yeah, that's right. And didn't Hasbro do a D&D run under the KREO line? That they did, and with a far superior minifig compared to the regular Lego style ones, imho! Plus, their castle style buildings were made modular so they could be joined with other sets. Company didn't give enough support, I don't think!

I feel like D&D Kreo might have done better if they focused on hero characters vs monsters instead of the humans vs orcs theme they went with. This was before the current D&D resurgence, so I guess they had no idea what people wanted from the brand.

D&D is owned by Wizards of the Coast, which is owned by Hasbro. So D&D probably isn't gonna happen, though it would be cool. How right you were!I have this vague suspicion that one morning I'll wake and discover that LEGO has forcibly licensed me and everyone else. I mentioned this before, but there was a time when "real" AFOLs would throw a fit at the idea of LEGO going all-in on so many licenses, but then came 1999 and LEGO said "principles? We don't need no stinking principles! We have a blank check from Lucasfilm's bottomless bank account," and there was no turning back.

Looks not bad, but Mega already has better. Two cool Dragons from Game of Thones one even undead, a Griffin (ok that one is not that great), Undead skeletons, Zombies, Lichs, Warrirors from different sets like the Viking long Raid ship, Kratos, GoT, Thieves from GoT and assassins Creed. Actually so many possibilitys to use the figures for D&D. Ok there is no Beholder.
On the other side, maybe is not that bad that MEGA did not get the licence. Seeing how bad Mattel handles the disribution and use of the licences it might be better have it somewhere else, even thought im sure MEGA would be superior. I mean look what they made out of the witcher licence. Big potential but wasted in a by far to expensive set and so not a big success.

I'm throwing this back in the mix to bring this chat back on topic. Collectors and nostalgia could be the saving grace for MEGA. Command and Conquer series - figs, vehicles and large sets Dune (RTS game, new and original movies) - figs, vehicles and large sets Battlestar Galactica (classic tv show) - figs, vehicles and large sets (MOC's of the cylon raider ship and the Viper Mark 1 sold out in China in months of release) Classic movie one off's - Vehicles, location sets, figs Classic TV one off's - Vehicles, Location sets, figs There are endless amounts of license that MEGA could get but only if Mattel were to believe in the brand and take advantage of its market standing before LEGO drives them out. During a hot shower I thought of more. Mad Max series - Figs, vehicles and sets Knight Rider (Original series) - Figs and vehicles - been on LEGO ideas page for 3+ years, so MEGA should grab it first Damnation Alley (1977 movie) - "Landmaster" vehicle collectors set Damnation Alley IMDB link (TV Movie shows it's age but the "Landmaster" became iconic + George Peppard, Jan-Michael Vincent and Paul Winfield)

I've always been a fan of Old West, Medieval, and other historical stuff they would not need a license for. Here is a link to some sets by a company called "Funwhole". I think something like these would be great with Mega figures! Funwhole sets

Imagine the success of a generic "Wasteland Warriors" line...loosely based on the Mad Max universe, but different enough to avoid lawsuits. The awesome figure, weapon and vehicle possibilities are endless! And who wouldn't want to display their figures on a "Lightning Dome"...

Here is the link to the actual website for Funwhole. They even have PDF versions of their sets instruction manuals on the site. Neat how different their minifig design is from anyone else's too. The inclusion of the lights already in the set with out a separate purchase is a really cool idea that all companies should adopt.

Playmobil currently has the license for Knight Rider. I didn't realize Playmobile had the Knight Rider license. Well that sucks. It also depends on what the license is for. Mega has the Halo brick built license, or some such, whereas Jazwares has a Halo action figure license. So there's still the possibility they could get Knight Rider on how the licenses are split.
