While I will say its a good find for those making COD/SWAT scenes/dioramas... You gotta love how enthusiastically the seller want to sell these for Easter, a "military themed party" or "classroom prizes", but who am I to judge how anyone celebrates holidays or life events.

Why the F doesn't MEGA do stuff like this?!? They have absolutely no brand outreach, and every time I promise myself that I'll stop mocking their marketing philosophy, something comes along to highlight just how weak their game is.

They must have a ton of stuff to be able to put out bunches of stuff in the impulse aisles of stores. I mean, heck, I bought a whole rack of the Dragons Universe mini-dragons eggs that appeared at Dollar Tree stores some years ago. They could pull out the mini-Halo vehicles they did, along with one of the oft used Master Chief molds, put them in an egg, or better yet nowadays, a blind bag. Especially with the new Halo series on Amazon later this year. Solid gold, I'm telling ya!

Spotted these at the Kroger Marketplace this morning, so other manufacturers are doing and are in brick and mortar stores.
I own few MAX sets and that price is too high in my opinion.

I think I saw them somewhere else, also. The blind bag/egg is a big thing right now. Mega had a go of it with the blind bag construction builds, which I think went pretty well. Don't know why they would stop.

I might be going in the wrong direction here but the question that I can't figure out with Mega is What markets/niches are they trying to fill exactly? They seem a little bit all "over the place". A lot of little projects or one off's from my viewpoint.

What bugs me about those containers is the same thing that bugs me about MEGA's "helmet" sets. And "skull" sets. And "Marvel head" sets. And "Power Rangers head" sets. And "creature egg" sets...
For sets of that size, more plastic goes into the almost useless container than in the set itself. What exactly are they selling to justify the price tag?
Halo's drop pods are at least functional, but how many copies of a character's head does a collector need? I've maintained all along that they should release two versions of the set, one with the helmet/head/egg/skull packaging, and one (cheaper) without. If these eggs/heads/helmets/skulls are as collectible as they're advertised to be, then buyers will still seek them out. And if they're not? Maybe the company could stop wasting plastic (and buyers' dollars) on extraneous packaging.
