As much as I wish I could say I was, I am not surprised.

Being new to the Mega world…would they discuss any other properties at this time or strictly Halo?

I doubt they'll talk anything but Halo. This is the first one for Halo I know of, but they've attended Powercon the last 2 years and stay 100% on property for that. They may talk a bit about the new logo, but I'd think that would be it.

How are we supposed to even find out what other properties they are currently working on? Their site doesn’t say much about anything. Just want more information.

How are we supposed to even find out what other properties they are currently working on? Their site doesn’t say much about anything. Just want more information. Unfortunately, you have to go out and find it yourself. The majority of the info is on Halo, and Masters of the Universe, or at least the info I'm looking for and I lean toward MOTU. There's Mega ConstruxNews Instagram or Mega Construx News Twitter which has some leaks or early finds. reddit board, they used to have a listing of releases at the top, but I haven't seen that in awhile. There's Mega discussion at TFW2005 that has some info and a lot of complaining. There's also some stuff on HeMan.org. Search for Kevin_MCX and he posts in different spots. Then you can dig around on Deep Discount they update about quarterly with new stuff, if it comes out or not is another thing. BigBadToyStore and Entertainment Earth will post stuff pre-announcement as will Target. Mattel Service will have stuff the MegaConstux site doesn't and things that haven't been announced yet. There's also a discord server. Those are the places I look at, I'm sure there are more.

That’s a big help. I’m just curious what other properties they might work with. Clearly Halo, MOTU and Pokémon are in but I feel like they’ve done more in the past? Probably wrong on that account but even in-house or original IPs would be cool. They will always stay a step behind Lego if they don’t let their fan base speak for them. Getting the word out would definitely assist in climbing the ladder.

From the panel video, which was pre-recorded, it seems they are listening to fans on what they want, a lot more than they have in the past, at least for Halo. 2 of the Halo sets are re-dos as well, so less design cost. For properties coming, who knows. I would like more Pro-Builder sets, those were a lot of fun, but I don't see that happening again any time soon, Call of Duty is apparently dead, they supposedly aren't gonna do a new Monster High line even though Mattel is redoing it. I see them staying with what they have now and building it, I don't see Barbie lasting much longer. In house IP is cool, but probably doesn't sell, Lego has the same problem. Lego Ninjago is an anomaly in that it apparently hit the right buttons and the hit at the right time.

Well I have to say they definitely seem invested in this wave of the Hot Wheels line. Some of the newer pieces are actually merges of 3 or 4 pieces in the previous HW sets. So I have to assume there's a bit more in the works for a while.
