I am not sure what category this would fall under for mega... post apocalyptic?

I've seen many comments about how ugly it is and people can't believe it's actually a set. Some even think it's not officially licensed because Tesla wouldn't let this get produced looking like that. It went on presale for $250 (too rich for me) and already sold out.

Johnnys World out of Germany has got a 2 part video review of the CyberTruck. All in German, but pretty neat overview.

Not being a "car" guy or into Cyberpunk 2077 this set holds little interest for me. Personally I was more interested in the interlocking track pieces show in the first video at 36:05, they look like they would be awesome for MOC's. Are these a new type of track piece or have I just missed them all along? Attachments:

I'd pick up the Falcon Heavy if it was in scale with the Lego Saturn V. Based on that price, I'm guessing it's not.

I like that they're continuing to branch out to actual representational models, similar to how LEGO has done well with Star Wars busts and whatnot, but the price-points are ridiculous.
I don't understand the marketing strategy of releasing a very expensive niche product while supporting it with minimal marketing. Why not cut the price to $79.99 or $99.99 and put it within reach of people who might buy it. I simply can't figure out who they envision as their target audience. Do they think that Musk himself will by a million of them?

It seems that Mega always prices things around 10 cents a brick for a "decently" priced set, with exceptions of course. Looking at what they did with it I am not sure it could be done with 800 to 1000 pieces and of course have they ever really marketed well? Some habits will probably never die. Not justifying it or Mega, just a possible explanation. With collecting having become more widespread and scalpers being fed by those who can't wait a month to get things it seems to has just have gotten that much more difficult getting things at a reasonable price overall. Hopefully things will level off at some point sooner than later.

You're right about piece:price ratio, of course, and for a long time that was the AFOL "standard" for LEGO sets as well.
I guess what I'm getting at is that Mega could seemingly broaden its market (and shelf) presence with a wider range of low-price items. Rather than 34 copies of He-Man vs. Beast-Man next to 23 copies of whatever Wart Hog is current, maybe a little variety?
With the possible exception of the Nissan Cube, has there ever been a recent modern vehicle better suited to representation in block form? How about a smaller version of the Tesla truck, for example? Not minifig scale, necessarily, but even something like the very nice $50 Hot Wheels we're seeing?
I'm aware of an online sentiment that goes something like "for that price, you might as well buy Lego," and that's hard to overcome when Walmart (for example) has half a dozen $200+ Lego sets on the shelf while Mega has brief and limited availability via a few select online retailers with uncertain inventory and uncertain delivery times. This plays into my ongoing complaint about Mattel/Mega's "we dare you to try and find us" marketing strategy.

LOL.
I only just now thought of this, but I'm amazed that the endlessly self-promoting Musk didn't demand that the set include a figure in his likeness.

Has anyone seen this in person yet, or gotten a good look in online vids?
I'm trying to figure out how to describe color AYB, which appears to be another dark gray color, possibly with a metal or flake appearance.
Anyone?
