Lanard is the company that put out The Corps! figures, a less expensive alternative to the 3 3/4" small GI Joes. Chap-Mei was also in the 3 3/4" scale arena and had some cool space stuff, as well as Lanard. They actually had some fun, interesting stuff around the same time. Having been a youngster who got to stay up to watch the first man walk on the moon, and having got the 12" GI Joe with space capsule for Christmas one year, I've always had a soft spot for space stuff! Here are some links to pics- First is Chap Space Quest, next is Lanard Star Force Here is a link to more Space Quest stuff- Space Quest stuff

Oh wow! I had some of these! I think I bought a blister pack of like 10 guys for 10 bucks or so. And they were the styled after the (IMO) superior classic 3.75" Joes, rather than today's version.
I think I also had a four-pack of ninjas.

First is Chap Space Quest, next is Lanard Star Force I think one of my friends had that Star Force moon rover as a kid. I like how the big rover is just a white & yellow APC. If it works, it works.

I can also say I don't recall ever hearing of either of the two brands you mentioned, Chap or Lanard while growing up. Were they distinctive to a specific area of the world? The figures and vehicles do look pretty cool though, especially the APC.
A little off topic but I couldn't help noticing the distinctive blue Athens model train boxes on the right side of the second picture, now those bring back some childhood memories for myself.

Well, they were marketed extensively here in the USA, Chap Mei especially in K-Mart and Toys-R-Us stores, but I believe, from discussion boards I was on at the time, they were also available to a lesser degree in the UK and Australia.

Well I'm from the US too, I must have just not paid attention to the brands when I was a kid I just wanted it all. Always too overwhelmed when in a toy store or toy section to pay much attention. Anyways cool looking figures and vehicles.
