I was out of the game, but ran across a full set of series 1 and couldn’t resist since I was really looking forward to these at one time and had some final custom ideas I wanted to try.
Instead of being sucked back in, these ended up being the last nail in the Mega coffin. How did they disappoint me? Let me count the wats:
1) slime
I know - it was part of the gimmick, but it was a crappy idea. Maybe if it was included separately it would have been okay, but desliming parts takes too damn long.
2) packaging
Okay, I get it, Mega loves their egg-shaped packaging, but the number of badly warped parts is infuriating. Just because I know how to fix them doesn’t mean I want to spend the time doing it. Haven’t had a single one come out in acceptable condition. Did Mega really think kids would be happy with wings that curl different directions or antlers so bent that they look more like brambles growing out of a creature’s head?
3) size
What the hell, people?!! Who thought, “Hey, let’s make really cool horse and deer based creatures *twice as big as our current horses* so they can’t be used with any of our cool medieval and fantasy figures”?
Definitely won’t buy more of these, probably won’t buy Breakout Beasts for the same reasons.
