Product line: TANKS FORCE "Defend Peace"
Set number: QL0130
Set name: Super Power ZTZ-96A
Number of parts: 1065
Who could resist such advertisement:
"Inspired by Every Brick"
Cool styling, changing colours, joining us together the exiting world tiling, Let your imagination without limits!
So I got this tank set for less than 25 bucks on AliExpress, and I must say it isn't as "bad" as it's English advertisement slogans sound :-)
The brick quality is OK, no burrs, no friction problems, definitely comparable with other Chinese premium brands.
I encountered no missing parts, and I had only one 1x2 bracket part which was not fully moulded, but is was used inside the turret, so you won't notice it from the outside.
After I finished the chassis, I was amazed how smooth the tracks were running. But that all changed when the mudguards were added, because after that the tracks were barely movable.
But it doesn't bother me that much, because the tank is intended as a display model only.
The front armour of the turret tended to pop off the turret, as there was too much tension between two bricks the was the armour was mounted. But nothing a drop of super glue could fix
It seems though you cannot mount the frontal armour plates as intended in the instruction booklet, because the base of the 1x2 hinge piece cannot be mounted centered on a single stud, but you can just move the 1x2 plate from the top of the hinge brick to the bottom of the hinge brick (because a 1x2 plate can be centered on a single hollow stud), and then the armour plates fit even better than pictured in the instructions.
Just compare the cover of the instruction booklet with my picture of the finished model ...
You will also notice a colour difference, the tank on the instruction booklet looks more like dark tan, while the assembled tank model is green.
But then again, the model is advertised as "Cool styling, changing colours, ...", so maybe I just have to wait a little bit until the green changes to tan ... who knows :-)
Or the model is available in different colours, and it as a surprise which one you get?
Well, nothing more to say except:
