I recently started training for a different job for my employer of about 8 years, moving from phone based customer service to in-the-field service & installation of alarm systems. It's a lot to learn, but we have some very knowledgeable techs who are happy to help, as well as a very solid training program.
One of the techs, however, is a bit of an outlier. He's a nice enough guy, but he has some odd notions about things, and he's stubborn about sharing them. Part of this, I suspect, is due to the fact that he's a (relatively) young 23, working alongside techs who've been doing this job for almost twice his lifespan.
Still, he knows more about alarms than I do, so I'm happy to learn.
Mostly.
Yesterday I was working a job with him, and he took a moment to explain how batteries work. See, batteries have a positive and a negative terminal. Electrons flow out of the negative terminal, and protons flow from the positive terminal.
How about that! Nuclear physics happening right now in your smart phone!

This is why you should NEVER put a battery in the wrong way: You'd get total protonic reversal - and that would be bad. 😱😂

I think he means the universe would become unbalanced...

I think he means the universe would become unbalanced... Like a washing machine? That would be bad!

I think he means the universe would become unbalanced... Like a washing machine? That would be bad! That would be correct. Despite it's near-infinite size, a simple experiment with batteries and phones can cause it to completely overload.

So...what happens when you put a 9V battery on your tongue to test its charge? Superpowers or cancer?

Probably both. Or your head just explodes. Depends how charged it is, and what type of battery.
