Not the best news for collectors! If the new building blocks dissolve after 10 years, the old ABS bricks will increase in value considerably.

Yeah...sad thing is it'll take about 5 to 10 years before we determine if this is a good idea or not. Unless...it's planned that way for our LEGOs to break-down and become useless after a determined period of time.  And also, that article can go to hell for using that same tired-ass "stepping on LEGOs hurts" line that so many people who write these articles think is so damn clever. I swear it's like the "what's the deal with airline food?" of toy reporting.  |

Well ... I got my first "edidble" Lego bricks, because for the AFOL shopping (20% discount) last weekend in our local LEGO brand store they gave away the set 40320 "Plants from Plants" as a free gift (for each purchase above 35 Euros).
And I got me the James Bond Aston Martin DB5 ... so I got a box of plants for free.
But at first look the new plant pieces are not really distinguishable from "regular" ones ...

From my understanding, these new pieces are made from the exact same chemicals as the old ones, it's just from a new sustainable source.
