I was tinkering with a few different ideas this morning(pieces of artificial plants, pieces of sprue, etc.), when I was getting out a box cutter razor to trim something, when I spotted some old bread ties in the bottom of the drawer. They wedge in nicely in the hole in the helmet(you might even be able to get two in there). You can cut them as long as you want, shape them to show motion or wind, and usually you can find various colors.

Thanks! Those are paper wrapped, so they need a little touch-up with a marker. A plastic wrapped tie would probably be better.
