Lego just bought Bricklink: News Link. I'm curious to see what the consequences of this will be. I've heard a lot of speculation that Lego will raise transaction prices.

Maybe I'll try to start selling Mega Bloks through my shop there...

Well, its already confirmed, that LEGO will not allow customized or 3rd party elements. So I guess you will not be allowed to sell MB there!

Bricklink has always had a sort of elastic, ad hoc policy about third-party items. That's their prerogative of course, but over the years it has amused me to see AFOLs' various justifications for excluding Mega Bloks while allowing custom-made elements.
"Mega Bloks is a competitor, but Brickarms is not." Well, Brickarms most certainly is a competitor, filling a gap that LEGO has dubiously chosen to avoid (when convenient to do so).
"But Brickarms are intended to go complement LEGO." Well, so is Mega Bloks.
The list goes on and on.
Again, Bricklink has always been entirely free to set their restrictions as they choose, and they need offer no explanation beyond "because we said so," but the fans' explanations have always been a hoot.

Hey, doesn't this mean that AFOLs will now have the thrill of paying LEGO 2X for their bricks?
