I found this one at Bluebrixx too, the Ausini M16 Actually it has to represent the Colt AR 15 or the latter M4, but when assembled it looks like a small kid toy I already did some digging on this model so i knew this before the purchase, so that's why i ordered 2 of them I'm still working on it (clip, butt-stock and some small details) but here is the result sofar; I only used some cobi tiles on the butt-sock, but sofar you can make this baby out of 2 sets They go for about 22 euro a piece, so this baby can be made for just 50 bucks incl s/h and only a couple of extra bricks and some tiles ( the clip has to be 8 studs, so you have to ad a few) It is a complete rebuild because at first sight the ausini is very cool, bit at closer examination nothing really compared to the real thing The worst being the size; i made mine a real1:1 scale, i did the exact measurements of a real one I just had to have this one because i fired a lot with this weapon's counterpart, the Diemaco C7/C8 with my days in the Marine Core

Nice idea! It always bothered me that some of the Ausini weapons are not full scale. I started my Ausini weapons collection by ordering the AK-47, M-16, MP5, Mauser and Ruger. I really enjoyed assembling them, the quality was OK (good value for money), so I knew right away where this would end ... I needed them ALL :-) So after I while I had acquired all 16 of the Ausini weapons, each one ordered individually from Ali Express ... for a total cost of just 255 Euros ... for a whoppin' 7179 bricks ... that's what I call good value for money :-) Here's what I paid in detail: Set No. | Weapon | Parts | Price (€) | Maker | Country | Year | Type | 22002 | CZ 805 Bren | 767 | 21,22 | CZUB | Czech Republic | 2009 | Assault Rifle | 22419 | Ruger Mark III | 118 | 5,31 | Sturm, Ruger & Co | USA | 2004 | Pistol | 22420 | M1898 Mauser | 145 | 5,78 | Mauser | Germany | 1898 | Pistol | 22510 | M&P 45 | 286 | 10,64 | Smith & Wesson | USA | 2005 | Pistol | 22511 | Magnum Revolver 357 | 300 | 9,80 | Colt | USA | 1955 | Revolver | 22512 | Desert Eagle | 376 | 13,28 | Magnum | USA | 1979 | Pistol | 22514 | QSZ 92 | 327 | 10,44 | Changfeng | China | 1994 | Pistol | 22607 | M16

I found it quite interresting that Ausini is using a mix of brick types from different brands, as they not only use official LEGO bricks, but also some from Mega Bloks and Cobi (!). But it looks like they only created the sets virtually, not out of real bricks before manufacturing them, as some "building techniques" cannot be done as described in the building istructions (as the bricks do not fit together as described). Esspecially the Magnum Revolver had serveral "errors" and had to be modified with other (Cobi) parts to make the assembly work. Most weapons required an additional black 1x1 plate to make the trigger guard align properly. Also the stickers were often way to large and had to be trimmed before applying them. Some bricks are printed, but the print on the bricks is not of the best quality (rather poor). Printed 2x2 round tiles where not printed properly aligned, so unfortunately you cannot place them with the top of the print facing exactly upwards, which looks a bit odd. I had no missing parts, and only one defective (incorrectly moulded) part in the whole bunch of 7179 parts, which sound like a good quota to me. But all in all I am very pleased with the Ausini sets, and I definitely learned a lot about the different types of weapons by assembling them. I especialy like the weapons which have some "moving" features, like the MP-7 or the "pump action" of the Remington M-870 ... I hope Ausini makes more weapons in the future! I had planned to build a (cool?) hidden weapons rack in my Lego room (secret agent style!) with all of them, but the fact that they are not all in scale to each other made me postpone that plan ...

He, I didn't even knew Ausini had that many!
Damn Caracho, is there anything you DON'T have? ;-)
You're right about the fun of building these sets, I really enjoyed making this one, making it a real addictive line-up (so I really understand " I needed them ALL"!!)
Quality wise it is indeed very OK, I had read that before the purchase
Funny indeed about the Cobi-like bricks in this set, the double sided stud plates and corner 90 degrees stud bricks being definitely amongst them
I wasn't planning on more Ausini, but that H&K MP5 is dying to be mocked
If they will make more in the future, I'm hoping on more popular models (Glock 17, Sig-Sauer 229 or H&K USP for handguns and a nice Ingram MAC 10 with silencer or Uzi would be nice for starters)
That secret weapons rack sounds great! You can mark the spot with your new Aston Martin DB5!

The original Ausini M-16 model is 62cm; A real M-16 carbine ( Ar-15 or m4) is around 75 cm with the stock retractred So Ausini's model is around 13 cm short, and that really shows It really looks to small, lenght wise and especially the whole impression of the thing I made mine about 73 cm ( this had the most balanced look) so a 1: 1 scales moc If you look closely, the only downside is the angle of the grip; it should be more slanted I really wanted to use the parts out of this set (color wise) so i didn't really feel like making it out of other bricks ( ausini has the right bricks on other models)

If you collect such rifles, I recently saw one that I really liked. Since I have to save space, I do not collect these, maybe something for you? kar98lnge.jxr (23.76 KB)

Nah, I don't like the Lego technic look. Things I collect must be made out of "real" bricks! Although that technic rifle can probably really shoot stuff ...

I'll second that, i'm also not a big fan of that technic look But i got to admit , i saw a nice Heckler&Koch MP5 from another brand on Aliexpress in that same technic style what really captured the right shape and looks But nice find of that K98 rifle Niho, haven't seen that one either, seems that maybe some brand will make more WW2 weapons oneday I already was looking on the net for some nicely done lego MP 40 or Stg 44 moc what really would be the bom if that was made for sale This was something i found on YouTube a while ago , an incredibly done Stg 44 in 1:1 scale Check this out, guys; m.youtube.com/watch?v=pya7qX55SwYHow bizar, how bizar...... I really get greedy seeing that ;-(
