Here is my final version of the Horch108 1a moc; Hope you guys aren't getting bored of this thing, otherwise see it as moc thread test! Things i changed; - Integrated the spare wheels on the side and used those arch bricks - Used bigger doors at the front - Lowered the window( actually it broke of, so i cheated with double sided adhesive tape) - Made the frontal grill more forward - Made a licenceplate/doorhandle/rearlight The only downside of the integrated wheel is you can see through it

Personally I liked the smaller door at the front better, it looked more accurately according to the reference pic you posted. Anyway, nice idea to use the Jeep parts for a Horch108 MOC, and well executed.

Here's a moc made out of 2 cobi sets; the Yak and Zero were donors for this Me 109 G6 I only used these 2 sets for this model ( only replaced 2 landing gear reciever bricks because otherwise i would have to use the saw while i had those parts in my spare parts inventory) I had to adjust 2 parts by using the saw (canopy and tail) and did 1 extra (air intake) what wasn't really necessary but what i thought looked cooler (it could also be made by a 1x2 flat brick with a 1x2 tile on top, also contained in both sets) It resembles the personal ride of Erich Hartmann, which he flew in Hungary 1945 I used the same recipe as my other Me 109's, but made an even better straight line at the fuselage bottom end ( i had more parts available now ) Here's a close-up of the sawn of parts; And here are the landing gear reciever bricks i mean; Left is the landing gear, middle is part contained in the sets( which is 1 stud to long as you can see in the pic, the landing gear of a Me109 has a shorter wheelbase as a Yak/Zero) and right is the part i replaced from my spare part box (otherwise i had to saw 1 stud off) Actually there was another way to attach the landing gear which i also tried but wasn't sturdy enough..... I used the 1x1with pin (also contained in the sets) which also fits the landing gear receiver, but when placed the landing gear collapsed (why i don't know) Here a close-up of the super sturdy slanted landing gear; This building technique looks a lot more like the real deal, and it works fine It even "clicks" in and out, and can withstand a lot of weight/pressure Hmmm... I see I forgot 1 decal at the belly's air intake......

I forgot to say that i didn't do the yellow nose belly because those parts weren't included in the Yak/Zero sets....and i really wanted to use only parts out of these 2 sets But if you want it i recommend the Galland me 109 from cobi which has the right yellow parts... ( and if you don't like sawing you can also use the canopy and tail and spray it white)

Here's a moc made out of 2 cobi sets; the Yak and Zero were donors for this Me 109 G6 Wow, combining the 2 sets for this color scheme turned out quite nicely, good job! Although you posted several pictures of the slanted landing gear, at first I didn't understand it and couldn't believe it could hold the weight of the plane. So I tried it myself, and you're right, it really "clicks in" and can hold the weight. What a great idea! It's a shame the new rounded top nose piece insn't available in any of the needed colors yet (the white piece from the tropical ME is only 1 instead of 2 studs long), but then again, using such a piece would also be against your "rule" of using only pieces from the 2 scrapped sets ;-)

Thanks for your praise!
Yeah, i like those new rounded nose tile from the fiat/yak3 too, shame it isn't in white I would use it on both sides, also at the bottom ( cobi only uses them on top for some reason)
Well, i'm already thinking of using yellow bricks at the bottom nose and use only white around the tip of the nose ( and i have to turn around the machine gun tile at the top, it is facing the wrong way!) to make it more realistic
I just wanted to see if this one could be build with only the 2 sets, but now that that's proven i'lll fine tune it anyway using other bricks for sure
About the landing gear it is nice, but when you display your model this way (with landing gear down that is) you actually have to relocate it 2 studs forward to make it look realistic ( place it at the frontal edge of the wing) I didn't take a profile picture with the landing gear down, then you could see what i mean if you compare it with a profile picture of a real Me109 The place where it is now is way to backwards for that matter
If you display it on the stand it is fine, but even then i prefer to remove the whole landing gear and make the whole bottom wing flat
I think the landing gear is still a big problem the way it is made now
I think the only way it looks good is to do it as mentioned above in a fixed position.... But the downside is if you want to change it again you have to rebuild a lot actually

Here is an example of what i mean; ( i don't have pics of a Me109 at hand right now) It is a different plane but the fw190 (and D) has the same problem It lies in the fact that the landing gear runs straight down from cobi and in real life it is slanted ( straight down landing gear means placing it more forward to get the tires at the right place) Here the profile looks reasonable good, but i placed the gear at the edge of the wing what was the best i could do with straight landing gear (see below) But because this is a fixed position only you can't get the landing gear up (it won't fit) I experimented a while back to get the whole landing slanted forward (also in a fixed position ) but somehow i couldn't make it work Maybe you know how, Caracho?

...and speaking of which, i'm planning on transforming my above 190d to a ta152 like the one in below's picture; I always wanted it in green with darkgreen ( so there goes the Stuka, already know that it contains the needed parts, including the right wing tips and tailwings in the right colors) And i wanted the camo to be more downwards over the fuselage, so lower than my 190d Also the wings have to be longer than it is now At first i wanted it in whitish grey but the light grey is actually almost the right color in real life I think it will be great.....but now it will be a plane made out of 3 sets (and also using some more spare parts)

Come to think of it, maybe an idea for Cobi 2018 to make a new tropical version?

Here's my Cobi MOC of a Soviet ISU-152 heavy assault gun: I moved the details for this MOC to it's own thread in the "Cobi MOCs" sub-board: Soviet ISU-152 Heavy Assault Gun

Very nice
It looks like Cobi can put this baby into production just the way you made it!
Like those custom decals
Great work!
Wonder which other 2 tanks you are referring to
I agree on the Jagdtiger, but still i like that set a lot...
