Although i really like the dark grey blitz and the pak 40 , i don't even have them in my possession I was always planning on buying them, but that blitz is just a behemoth compared to my other sets Also, my plans were to combine them on display, but the wheels on the blitz are even bigger than the pak 40, while in real life the pak 40 has even bigger wheels than the blitz... Check out these pics; Well, when you just display that blitz it is a very nice set, but you'll have to use the dark grey wheels from the totally unreal full green mercedes truck(why they ever did those stupid combo's i still wonder..) Guess they thought it looked cool....

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll exchange that on my display shelf right away :-)

You're welcome!
An option for your stripped Merc is offcourse green wheels which i can imagine you have by the thousands in your spare part box ( or should i say spare room judging by your cobi collection?)
But even more, THE option is to exchange the doors with a US star ( don't really know if cobi makes those)instead of that balkenkreuz, and you have a nice US war trophy truck ( or a truck from Skorzeny's panzerbrigade 150 from the Battle of the Bulge, which i always had in mind, and making some green Panthers as Shermans and some Stugs all with US markings)

OK, done! I even swapped the fuel tanks, so now my Blitz is VERY dark! Not to "disappoint" you, but my bin for spare wheels did only contain 7 green rims, so apparently my spare parts arsenal is not as vast as you thought it is ;-) They must come from a scrapped SdKfz 251, an M3 armoured car and a Battle of Berlin magazine issue with Katyusha wheels (which I bought back then for my camouflage Hetzer). Unfortunately most of my spare rims are light grey, from all the Battle of Berlin Hanomag issues for the steering parts. If you put them all in a row though, it would make a nice barrel for a railway gun :-) But you're right, I do have an extra room to store my building blocks related stuff, and guess what's hanging on the wall: A poster of your avatar!I bought it back in the early 80s on a language trip to GB, and it certainly fits to the WW2 airplane collection now ;-) (I remember creating a 16 color version of this album cover on my C-64, which took me 18 hours to draw back then!) Btw, I did buy me tickets for the 2 Maiden shows in Helsinki next year, so: Up the Irons!

Yeah, Eddie in it's aces high role....the eighties man, those were the days The metal started for me and my older brothers when we bought the first Venom album back in '81..... What followed was a long trip in heavy metal, long hair, studs and bullit belts! My brother still has our complete record collection containing almost everything that came out between 81' and 91' One of many posters i had, and one of favorite, was a 1:1 doorposter of Eddie coming through the door in his future outfit from "caught somewhere in time" Funny you mentioned your Commodore64 graphic achievements back in those days..... I was doing the same thing back then on my Commodore Amiga making demo's of self drawn german ww2 planes accompanied by metal offcourse! Can't remember those programs i used, but i remember i spend hours and hours doing it! Have fun in Heksinki next year! Luckily Bruce Dickinson is back in the band i understand

A little "off topic", but: Yeah, Eddie in it's aces high role....the eighties man, those were the days Funny you mentioned your Commodore64 graphic achievements back in those days..... Well, nothing beats maintaining a good archive, so here's my C-64 image from the 80s ... already under the "El Caracho" name ... in all it's 16 color glory! 18 hours of work seemed like ages back then, but nowadays it just passes with a snap of a finger ... The metal started for me and my older brothers when we bought the first Venom album back in '81..... What followed was a long trip in heavy metal, long hair, studs and bullit belts! I just came back from a concert in Hamburg's famous "Große Freiheit 36", where Udo Dirkschneider (the original singer of the German metal band "Accept") was performing live, and he played all the classic 80s Accept hits like "Metal Heart", "Princess of the Dawn", "Fast as a Shark" and "Balls to the Wall" ... It was an awesome trip back in time! Never thought I would ever hear these songs live again ...
