I really like this vehicle! A "Maultier" as an ambulance! Wow, that looks really nice indeed! So Cobi finally fulfilled all the "Maultier" requests over at the "Cobi Fans" facebook group. Check out those front wheels, glad they got rid of those 4 stud uglies Yeah, that is VERY important to me indeed! I hate those "4 stud uglies". Now we need these rims in grey to be able to upgrade the recent SdKfz 251 ... (and in green to upgrade the GMC M6 Fargo, but that should be covered by the release of the upcoming 2616 KTO Rosomak (Wolverine) set)

Did anybody mention the new "2in1" battleship set yet? 4812 - USS Iowa BB-61 / USS Missouri BB-632100 pieces ... and of course you have to buy the set twice to put both ships on your display shelf

And we get the first Cobi set with a "B" in the set number: Set 3000B, and updated Tiger I in the WoT series. But I see only minor modifications on the turret, the nozzle, the frontal armour plate and the back between the exaust pipes so far ...

I hope they will make a new one for the World War II series. I prefer printed parts over stickers, so I won't be getting this new model... I made an exception with the Maus in the past, but the rest of my german panzer collection doesn't have a model from World of Tanks. BTW, it's going to be an awesome week with all the news

Guess I’ll have to wait for better pictures to see if there are significant differences between the Iowa and Missouri to justify buying two sets. If it's just a matter of swapping out hull numbers and nameplates then forget it. And if that’s the case, why not go all-in and make it a 4-in-1 with the New Jersey and Wisconsin as well?

This is my version of the new T-34/85. An Pzkw 747 (r):

Also got my new Sturmtiger and added some equipment:
Cobi did an excellent job on both models. I decided to change not the colours / camo scheme.

Well ... finally there is the first announcement of a B-17 Flying Fortress in the new official Cobi catalogue I've been hoping for a Cobi B-17 for quite some time now (well, we all were, weren't we?), but the announced dimensions (Length: 48cm, Wingspan: 62cm) are somewhat smaller that I originally calculated back then : I have calculated the potential lenght and wingspan of 4 engine bombers in Cobi scale: Bomber | Lenght in m
| Wingspan in m
| Lenght/Width Ratio
| Cobi Lenght in cm
| Cobi Wingspan in cm
| Cobi Lenght/Width Ratio
| Scale Lenght
| Scale Wingspan
| PZL P-37B Łoś | 12,92
| 17,93
| 1:1,39
| 33,0
| 43,5
| 1:1,32
| 1m = 2,55 cm
| 1m = 2,43 cm
| B-25 Mitchell | 16,13 | 20,60
| 1:1,28
| 42,5
| 48,5
| 1:1,14
| 1m = 2,63 cm
| 1m = 2,35 cm
| Heinkel He 111 | 16,40 | 22,60
| 1:1,38
| 41,0
| 51,0
| 1:1,24
| 1m = 2,50 cm
| 1m = 2,26 cm
| Nakajima Ki-49 | 16,50 | 20,42
| 1:1,24
| 40,5
| 51,0
| 1:1,26
| 1m = 2,45 cm
| 1m = 2,50 cm
| Vickers Wellington | 19,69 | 26,27
| 1:1,33
| 47,0
| 54,0
| 1:1,15
| 1m = 2,39 cm
| 1m = 2,06 cm
| B-24 Liberator | 20,60 | 33,50
| 1:1,63
| 51,7
| 77,7
| 1:1,50
| 1m = 2,51 cm
| 1m = 2,32 cm
| Avro Lancaster | 21,11 | 31,09
| 1:1,47
| 53,0
| 72,1
| 1:1,36
| 1m = 2,51 cm
| 1m = 2,32 cm
| Handley Page Halifax
| 21,82 | 31,75
| 1:1,46
| 54,8
| 73,7
| 1:1,34
| 1m = 2,51 cm
| 1m = 2,32 cm
| B-17 Flying Fortress | 22,66 | 31,62
| 1:1,40
| 56,9
| 73,4
| 1:1,29
| 1m = 2,51 cm
| 1m = 2,32 cm
| Short Stirling | 26,60 | 30,20
| 1:1,14
| 66,8
| 70,1
| 1:1,05
| 1m = 2,51 cm
| 1m = 2,32 cm
| B-29 Superfortress | 30,18 | 43,06
| 1:1,43
| 75,8
| 99,9
| 1:1,32
| 1m = 2,51 cm
| 1m = 2,32 cm
|
For the calculated lenght and wingspan values for the 4 engine Cobi bombers I used the average scale factor of the 5 existing bombers, which was: 1m = 2,51 cm for the lenght 1m = 2,32 cm for the wingspan Apparently the Nakajima Ki-49 ist the most accurate Cobi model judging from the lenght/width ration, which is 1:1,24 for the real plane and 1:1,26 for the Cobi model

Well ... you don't have to buy the same set twice anymore, you can just buy set 3084 (2340 pcs) from the "World of Warships" product line for the "Battleship USS Missouri BB-63", and set 4812 (2100 pcs) for the "USS Iowa BB-61". "Problem" solved

You should get a job working for Cobi's marketing department
And I'm with you, I thought an eventual B-17 would be bigger. That aside, I'm just glad we're getting one no matter the scale.
